I joke about that fact that I shouldn't be allowed to use power tools. I proved that fact Saturday morning. Apparently, if you hold a hedge trimmer in just the wrong place, then plug it in and accidentally press the little button, it rips some rather nasty holes in your fingers.

Now you know.

On a vaguely related note, did you know that duct tape makes a very servicable bandage?

Last year a friend of mine actually tried to stop a hedge trimmer blade with her bare hand. (Ever wonder why they put those outrageous warning labels? There really is a reason!) She's not a dim bulb, either-- she's in law school and everything. So at least you've got some good company.

...Hope you're not hurt as badly as she was though. Her hand's still not working right all these months later. At any rate, yay for duct tape!

This might be classified as a low-level Nicoll event.

Ouch! I hope you're all right?

I think I'll be staying far away from power tools. They're scary. But I'll keep some duct tape at hand just in case.

I bet you could hire some kid to trim the hedges for 10 bucks dude. for serious.

duct tape is also good if you have a hole in the bottom of your favorite socks.

*wince*

I soooo nearly did that once, while fixing the hedge round our horse fields. Only my own stupidity saved my hand -- I'd forgotten to turn on the mains! I really feel for you. I still get nightmares.

It's okay, Steve. You have other talents. (wink, wink, say not more)

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.

Thankfully, you have other talents that people appreciate 1,000% more than your beautiful lawn.

And seeing as I just uploaded a tutorial for a Slytherin Duct Tape Tie, I would say you can make pretty much anything with that!

Thanks for giving me a good laugh during the altogether boring task of entering invoices in Simply Accounting :)

For reasons I shall not reveal, I did know that! Duct tape really does keep the Universe together and now you as well, so the company truly is excellent.

I hope you weren't hurt too much and that you'll be better soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. Hopefully they were not very severe, as you were still able to type this entry?
